I thought this website was helpful in getting younger students to better understand the concept of addition. It uses objects that a student can click on, bringing more meaning to addition rather than just numbers (5+4).

Students can leran about what an animal needs in order to survive and watch the footage available of real live animals in their homes in the zoo! Making Cents with Multiplication

Each player takes two pennies and tosses them onto the board. Whatever two slots they land on will determine the numbers that will be multiplied.
Using a calculator, multiply the first amount by the second amount, and write your total on the score sheet provided. Whichever player’s amount for that round was higher receives one point.
Play six rounds!
The player with the highest score wins the game J

Interactive Multiplication Game

While working on a lesson addressing multiplication concepts, I found this game for students to play. Instead of filling out worksheet after worksheet, students exercise multiplication facts by selecting the appropriate ice cream scoop for each customer that comes in with a math question.

Help Younger Students Get Comfortable Reading!

Here is a website that helps students take the necessary steps toward becoming readers! It starts off with interactive tools to use the ABC’s and works all the way towards reading aloud by themselves. I thought that this was a good tool for children to use because it sort-of plays off of the LeapPad idea, which children seem to love.

I have always loved Dr. Seuss and am a huge advocate for reading his books to children. This website would be fun to use after reading one of his books to either your kids or your class. “Seussville” is complete with a playground, biography and more. Children can even write their own stories and listen to music from the movies inspired by Dr. Seuss’s books.

I ran across this website, and it has links for parents & teachers as well as fun games for the kids! It includes topics such as science, geography, math, and reading.Kids can take part in polls, games, word searches, and take fun quizzes. Another neat feature of this website is that it has a special section just for pre-school teachers, elementary teachers, and parents!
